8:00am - 11:00am Workshop A: (Registration At 7:30am) Best Methods In Compound Library Storage And Distribution

Consequences of inefficient and improper storage include deterioration, contamination and other variances, which may then compromise all future drug discovery with the samples. This workshop discusses best methods in compound library storage and distribution

What You Will Learn:

  • Explore current practices and tools for compound storage and handling
  • Understand common pitfalls in the design of a Compound Management process
  • Integration of compound storage systems and plate replication systems
  • Foresee future directions for more effective use of compounds and better screening results

How You Will Benefit:

  • Explore storage conditions, containers, and equipment that are available to improve compound integrity and distribution
  • Learn process steps that can greatly improve your chances to deliver accurate quantities of effective compound
  • Understand how to customize this system to your organization

11:45am - 1:45pm Workshop B: (Registration At 11:15am) (lunch Will Be Served) Compound Registration: A New Hub For Social Research Networks

This workshop will display the growth of social research networks within the compound registration arena assess and the impact this is having within the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. This session will also discuss and assess options available with your organization as well as look into many fundamental registration aspects and considerations with regards to optimizing your company’s compound registration system.

What will be covered:

  • Discussing the impact and value of social research networks in scientifically oriented organizations
  • Evaluating your current registration system - how to add value to existing registration systems
  • How to leverage existing registration data to drive social research networks
  • Assessing your company business strategy to understand the future benefits of a modified or new compound registration system

2:30pm - 5:30pm Workshop C: (Registration At 2:00pm) Do You Know What You Are Screening? -Techniques And Solutions To Reduce The Impact Of Variable Sample Quality

3rd in the series of RTS’ sample management workshops designed to educate, inform and stimulate discussion on issues facing sample management professionals, this session discusses techniques and solutions to reduce the impact of variable sample quality. As Compound Management and HTS Groups strive to improve efficiencies and reduce costs, consistent sample quality continues to increase in importance and companies are seeking to improve their understanding of the quality of their stored samples. Many factors have an impact: environment, temperature, solubility, frequency of access, sealing methodologies etc. As a result, the ability to protect samples from degradation and determine their volume and concentration in storage is invaluable in determining the quality of any generated output.

What will be covered:

  • Factors affecting sample quality as they apply to automated storage
  • Review of new techniques and solutions for improving sample quality
  • Key considerations for integrating solutions in an automated system
  • Attendees will be asked to complete an online questionnaire prior to the workshop. The anonymous results of the survey will be shared as part of the workshop

How will you benefit:

  • Benchmark yourself against others in the industry
  • Understand how QC can be built into day to day workflows
  • Understand the true cost of poor sample quality
  • Learn from a case study how a vision system routinely and accurately audits tubes
